About Us

My wife, Donna and I moved to our small farm in 1993. It was once a horse farm and when we bought it we had intentions of riding but never had the time to devote to actually owning horses. At the time, she was studying to become a massage therapist and I was on the road making my living as a professional musician.

When my band Extreme broke up in 1995 after 7 years of touring and recording, I was ready to settle down and sleep in my own bed. (You may have seen us featured in the “Past Lives” article of the Winter 2005 issue of Alpacas Magazine or on VH1’s “Bands Reunited” series where they actually came and took a tour of our farm)

With that chapter of my life closed, I was faced with a new challenge. What would I do now? I had visions of turning our property into a working farm. I was just uncertain about what animals to raise....until I found out about alpacas!

I began reading stories about people who raised alpacas and their reasons for doing so. Many people had 10 acres or less and alpacas could be raised on relatively small acreage; many left their “stressful corporate lives” for a life in the country; many were retired or reaching retirement age; many had raised their kids and looked for something to do after their kids had left them with an empty nest.

Neither one of us had “stressful corporate lives” by any stretch of the imagination, nor were we near retirement age and our son Aidan wasn’t even born yet. What we did have in common with other alpaca farmers is that we had 10 acres or less and a growing fascination and love for these incredible creatures.

Having limited land to support a large herd, from the beginning we focused on buying exceptional breeding stock with an ultimate goal of having a herd of about 30-40 Huacayas in a variety of colors.

We’ve reached many of our goals and continue to add superior genetics to our herd of high quality in alpaca standards. If you’re a new breeder, we can help you get started. If you’re an experienced breeder, we can help enhance your breeding program.

We hope you take the time to visit the pages of this site, as well as visit our farm in person. So far, this lifestyle has been everything we had hoped for and more! Please contact us today to schedule a farm visit!

Sincerely yours,
Pat, Donna and Aidan Badger
